MTDXB Presents: Miscast Musicals & Mistletoe in Dubai

Unexpected Voices. Unforgettable Showtunes. Festive Favourites.

The showtunes you love. The casting you didn’t see coming. This December, Musical Theatre Dubai (MTDXB) invites you to expect the unexpected at Miscast Musicals & Mistletoe. Join them at Jumeirah Beach Hotel Theatre on Saturday 5 December at 3pm or 8pm for a show full of musical theatre surprises and festive favourites.

One stage. Two acts. Plenty of surprises. Act One turns musical theatre casting on its head: men take on songs made famous by women, women step into roles usually played by men, and grown-up performers embrace numbers you might never expect to hear them sing. The usual casting rules are taking the night off, giving familiar favourites a fresh voice. Expect powerhouse vocals, playful comedy, and a few moments that may catch you off guard.

Featuring songs from Matilda, The Book of Mormon, Annie, Wicked, Billy Elliot, Evita and more. The programme brings together big characters, bold ambitions, and some gloriously unexpected combinations. Whether you know every lyric or simply love a great performance, there’s plenty to get swept up in.

In Act Two, the company brings Christmas to the theatre through festive classics, holiday favourites from stage and screen and even a bit of panto magic thrown in for good measure! From joyful ensemble numbers to quieter festive moments, it’s a celebration of the season with all the warmth and theatrical flair MTDXB audiences have come to love.

Gather your friends, add a little festive flair to your outfit - Christmas Jumpers or T-Shirts welcome! - and settle in for a show with unexpected voices, unforgettable showtunes and some fabulously festive favourites!
