In 2010, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo made history by introducing Gentoo penguins, the first of their kind in the region! These amazing penguins, from a facility in the United States, live in a state-of-the-art enclosure that accurately simulates sub-Antarctic conditions, maintaining air temperatures between 2-4°C and water temperatures between 5-7°C, along with a special light cycle. The enclosure houses 16 penguins and features fun climbing structures and a slide.

Visitors can embark on a unique journey starting from Penguin Cove and continuing to Penguin Encounter, where they can interact with amazing penguins in an immersive way and learn about their natural behavior.

By car: The Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is located in The Dubai Mall, which is easily accessible by car. You can park in the Dubai Mall parking area. By public transport: The mall is easily accessible by public transport. If you take the metro, you can get off at the Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa station and walk to the mall via an air-conditioned walkway. Once you arrive at Dubai Mall, you will need to walk through the mall to the lower ground floor (also known as LG). By taxi: You can also take a taxi to the mall from anywhere in Dubai. It's a popular destination and most taxi drivers are familiar with the location.
